About

This is the blog for East Carolina University’s School of Art and Design Art 3210 Production class, sections 1 and 2. The class is taught by Kate LaMere, Ph.D. The objectives of this class are to: develop an advanced understanding of graphic design principles and elements, and typography; develop an understanding of commercial print processes and digital prepress preparation;  gain intermediate proficiency with Adobe Illustrator and InDesign including the use of style sheets, master pages, layers, etc.;  and  develop an understanding of sustainability, both in the broad sense and in terms of graphic design.

This blog is a repository for communication among the students and instructor focused on dialog about sustainability. The students and instructor will post to this blog, and are charged with igniting and keeping discussion alive. This blog will also include updates about due dates, calendar changes, readings, project descriptions, as well as being a space for informal critique. Enjoy!
